ATLANTA FURNITURE BANK - CHAIRISH THE FUTURE 2010

Last night we attended "Chairish The Future" the 16th Annual Fundraiser for the Atlanta Furniture Bank.  The goal of the evening was to raise much needed funds for the Bank, as well as increase awareness about this great organisation in our community. 

The Furniture Bank was founded in 1988 in response to the lack of furniture for families moving out of homeless shelters. Today the Furniture Bank provides essential household furniture to individuals and families moving out of homelessness, battling HIV/AIDS, and fleeing domestic violence.

The evening highlighted just how fortunate we are to be surrounded by beautiful home furnishings that sometimes we forget what a simple table and sofa can do to transform the lives of those who need a helping hand.  The audience had an opportunity to bid on some glorious items while helping the Bank-there were many beautiful items auctioned off last night.  Here are photos of just a few of those things!
